Why not just get James back on a cheap, could take over captains armband from Nobes when he retires.

We tried to resign him a couple years back. He was keen but palace would not let him go.
Good player who I think we sold too cheap but he would not start in front of ogbonna or diop.

I wouldn’t sign him but he should never been sold. I know he wanted first team football but he was the youngest CB out of himself, Reid, Ogbonna & Collins and we sold him for peanuts in reality. Reid & Ogbonna had a decent year the last season at UP so Billic probably thought he was surplus to requirement but Ogbonna got injured and turned to shit until last season. Proved it was Wrong when we signed 33yr old Jose Fonte 6 months later.

He wasn't more than a squad player and he has done better for his career by getting a decent long deal in London on good money. He certainly isn't the answer to our defensive issues. At best a squad filler and if I'm honest I'd rather someone like Cardoso or one of the U23s is given the opportunity.

Of course its a wind up post Brick! But it does get you thinking......NEXT LEVEL!
Sell a player in is prime as its doubtful he will get regular first team football, think about buying him back when he’s over 30 and injury prone and deemed not good enough by the club who bought him as they have better options and now finish higher in the league than West Ham………..He is now a big contender as a first choice starter at the next level West Ham.

He has played 99 games for Palace in 4 seasons, not great. Contract ends summer 2022.
